00:05
what is going on everyone we're gonna be
00:09
starting up here in a second
00:13
we're gonna breed bring in Tom on here
00:22
hope everyone is doing great we got a
00:25
great session plan for everybody today
00:28
I'm super excited we had a huge turnout
00:34
for this
00:51
super pumped hey Brian hey Ellen
00:56
hi Randy Brent how you doing Paul Rob
01:02
Steve Edie Pete
01:05
Jason Jim Brian Penda Jordan we still
01:13
got people coming in we're almost at max
01:15
capacity so we're gonna get to max
01:17
capacity here in a second so hey David
01:22
Mike Larry
01:26
Carmy Rick
01:34
Eric Chris bill how you doing Scott
01:53
Tom if you're listening you're as I
01:56
should be all set oh are you coming
01:59
you're coming on now all right we got
02:02
Tom here and we are now at max capacity
02:08
actually it looks like it's allowing us
02:11
maybe a couple people past
02:12
max capacity it on the bus okay as many
02:15
as people have became the bus yeah yeah
02:19
I mean it's allowing us to go overboard
02:22
either that or some people can't see I'm
02:25
not sure everybody bring their clubs
02:26
tonight I hope you did bring your clubs
02:29
make some swings in your living room I'm
02:35
just gonna give this a couple more
02:37
minutes Jason said what's up Tom Jerry
02:41
said what's up Tom Ilene how you doing
02:44
Michael from Vegas Bob thanks for coming
02:47
out tonight
02:49
Chris bill how you doing yes thank you I
02:53
hope every chord instead shortened so
02:58
he's got his clubs how you doing David
03:00
hi Edie a will friend has hi Tom okay so
03:13
we have I'm gonna go ahead and get
03:15
started because we're we're at max
03:18
capacity it looks like there it was
03:19
letting a couple people in here and
03:21
there Mike is listening on the way home
03:26
he just finished his round with his
03:28
ten-year-old that's awesome we have a
03:31
full probably hour I'm guessing maybe
03:36
even a little bit more yeah real quick
03:40
on the comments guys so the comments are
03:42
all private and the reason why we did
03:45
that is just so people don't get caught
03:49
up in all the comments and everything
03:50
like that so that's why that's why no
03:54
one else can see can see the comments so
03:57
we don't want you guys to get distracted
03:59
from all the knowledge that Tom Segundo
04:02
is gonna be laying down for us today so
04:03
we can go play our best golf this year
04:06
that
04:06
why we disabled comments to keep it that
04:09
simple the reason why Tom and I have the
04:14
earmuffs on or I have the earmuffs he's
04:16
looks like he's got the earbuds in is to
04:18
reduce the echo because we do have some
04:21
we do have some video that we're going
04:24
to be playing because it's great to have
04:28
this webinar and everything you get to
04:29
learn a little bit about us but the most
04:32
important thing that Tom wanted I wanted
04:34
to do for you guys is make sure that you
04:36
guys have some concrete things some of
04:38
the most important things that you can
04:40
take away from this webinar and go ahead
04:43
and play some better golf so let's go
04:48
ahead and get started real quick before
04:51
we get started shout out to all the
04:53
essential workers all of our people in
04:58
the medical and care field you know for
05:01
everything that you guys are doing
05:02
during the pandemic and I hope everyone
05:05
is staying safe and healthy and wishing
05:09
everyone all the best and hopefully this
05:12
will all be over soon and we'll be able
05:14
to go back to our normal lives so just
05:17
take a quick shot out there Michael said
05:21
he brought some of his mizuno and 20
05:23
clubs today if I don't get to if I don't
05:28
get hey Dave if I don't get to
05:30
everyone's comments it's just we have
05:33
over 150 people in here so it's kind of
05:36
hard to keep to keep up but biggest
05:39
webinar history yeah so that's right so
05:43
real quick
05:44
can everyone real quick on the
05:46
soundcheck and everyone here Tom and I
05:53
okay everyone is saying yes I saw some
05:57
one person said no so you might just
05:59
want to check yes okay everyone
06:03
everyone's good on that alright so let's
06:08
go ahead and get started here I'm so
06:13
excited for this this is such a huge hit
06:15
thanks for everyone for coming over 600
06:18
people registered for the
06:20
event I'm sure I'm sure it's probably
06:23
still going David if you can't see me
06:25
and you can see Tom I think there's a
06:27
way on your end to kind of control the
06:29
video of what's going on up there
06:33
but yeah so super super excited so let's
06:38
go ahead and get into it that's awesome
06:42
well alright so who is this webinar for
06:46
if you're looking to improve your swing
06:53
the quickest way possible and you are
06:59
definitely in the right place because
07:01
Tom's instruction there's comments here
07:04
talking about people who have reduced
07:05
their handicap by seven strokes in a
07:08
couple of weeks if you want to be more
07:12
consistent playing golf if you want to
07:14
have more fun you are definitely in the
07:17
right place and we're going to be
07:19
providing you that today who is this not
07:24
for if you want to perfect all the
07:31
perfect all the p9 positions and you
07:35
want your swing to look a certain way
07:37
and you're totally dialed into that
07:40
that's this is probably not for you if
07:43
you're not willing to keep an open mind
07:45
about the golf swing this is probably
07:48
not for you
07:49
and if you're not willing to learn
07:50
quote-unquote different ideas this is
07:55
and when I say different some of these
07:57
things have been around for a long time
07:59
but they may be different from some of
08:02
the traditional coaching that we're
08:05
probably all accustomed to all right so
08:09
let's go ahead and get in here we're
08:10
gonna do a couple quick BIOS we'll get
08:17
to guys there's gonna be a Q&A session
08:20
so I would hold off your questions
08:23
because some of your questions might get
08:24
answered during the presentation and
08:27
then we'll specifically have a Q&A
08:31
session so I'm your host today I
08:34
the founder of up glove for those of you
08:36
who do not know what we do we basically
08:39
we make great golf gloves for about half
08:44
the price so here's our here's our glove
08:49
we basically we're a subscription
08:52
business so we really tailor to the avid
08:55
golfers people who play a lot and our
08:58
gloves are top grade - brought a glove
09:00
they're super soft and we deliver those
09:04
either on a monthly quarterly basis to
09:07
our players I'm also an avid golfer I've
09:14
been an athlete my whole life I played
09:15
college sports I didn't play college
09:17
golf and I'm a single-digit handicap I
09:21
have two dogs Brutus and champion and I
09:24
am originally from Cleveland Ohio and I
09:27
am a huge Browns fan go Browns
09:33
okay so and now we have Tom a lot of you
09:39
will know Thomas Tom is a PGA member
09:42
he's the founder of Segundo golf his
09:44
YouTube channel has been blowing up
09:46
because he's been helping golfers lower
09:50
their scores and strike the ball like
09:52
the wrath of God like he did in his last
09:55
driver video and he also I believe he's
10:02
also an avid guitarist if I'm not
10:04
mistaken that's correct if you watch
10:06
some of those socially distanced got the
10:08
socially distance golf academy you'll
10:10
see the guitar playing come out more off
10:13
nice and then and then Tom here is
10:19
blowing up Tom recently just got
10:22
interviewed by one of the like regional
10:25
news like that order this lead anchor in
10:28
the tri-cities area of Virginia
10:30
Tennessee reached out to me last week or
10:34
a couple weeks ago because he was
10:35
playing in this men's league and I'm
10:38
sure a lot of you play in some leagues
10:39
like that and he was just he found my
10:43
channel and he was so excited about this
10:44
information that he came back and gave
10:47
me a
10:48
male and said hey I want to do an air
10:50
view uh tomorrow evening I said sure you
10:53
know you said we'll talk about some golf
10:54
and some golf swing no problem talking
10:56
about golf swing that sounds like fun
10:58
right so next day we get together thank
11:01
goodness I have everything ready because
11:02
the second I hit hit okay to get on that
11:05
video chat all the cameras were on the
11:09
screen and everything and we were
11:11
talking about his journey or how his
11:14
swing it improved so much using the
11:15
things we're going to talk about in the
11:16
webinar today yeah so we had a great
11:20
time my golf swing it was a ton of fun
11:22
and really simple I mean he just
11:24
couldn't believe how fast he was
11:26
improving that's awesome that's awesome
11:31
here but we we reached out to you
11:33
probably before he did so I'm gonna I'm
11:35
gonna take that then you're you're the
11:37
reason everybody's reaching out all
11:45
right
11:46
so real quick before we move on
11:48
youngstown huge Brown fans that's
11:50
awesome well Jason don't wear no gloves
11:54
that's fine
11:55
some people are saying they miss the
11:57
long hair time and then yes Bob that
12:01
that was uh that was pretty awesome him
12:04
hitting the the building and then we got
12:06
Eddie here who's J ETS Jets Jets Jets
12:09
guys other colors all right yeah that's
12:14
true we got Jets come colors ed so there
12:16
you go hop on some up club alright so
12:20
let's go ahead and Jerry's a Bills fan
12:23
so Tom I think one of the things I think
12:27
really resonates with a lot of people
12:29
especially if they haven't heard it is
12:31
kind of your story of becoming a PGA
12:35
member so can you just kind of tell us
12:38
about your story and her story the PGA
12:42
its the PGA of America you might be
12:44
familiar with the PGA Championship
12:46
that's the organization that I belong to
12:49
the PGA of America and as a member we're
12:51
experts in the business side of golf and
12:53
I particularly like to teach so that's
12:56
that's my niche in that and when you
12:58
become a member you're just more of a
13:00
certified expert
13:01
twenty-eight thousand members in the
13:03
entire world so it's a more exclusive
13:05
group of people that are devoted to
13:08
growing the game and as you see on my
13:10
YouTube videos I'm all about you getting
13:12
the swing down as fast as possible
13:14
having the most fun as fast as possible
13:17
because this game is so hard but the my
13:21
story is probably like most of y'all's
13:24
arranged rat I'm a ranger at hitting
13:27
thousands of balls I was a high-school
13:28
golfer and I played highschool golf
13:31
because it was fun it was free something
13:33
to do and I got the bug and I was all
13:38
about going through every youtube video
13:40
every golf magazine and getting top
13:42
instruction from anybody you know paying
13:44
for instruction and what I found was I
13:47
had the work ethic in the drive to get
13:50
anything done I was always a really
13:51
diligent hard worker like when I play
13:52
guitar you plot you practice guitar you
13:55
get better blowin golf it was
13:56
frustrating because I work on all these
13:58
things these instructors and experts
14:00
were telling me to do and that was on
14:02
the traditional golf swing and I was not
14:04
getting better at all in fact my game
14:06
would just hover anywhere between 75 and
14:09
95 and mostly towards the upper end of
14:11
that spectrum so it was rather miserable
14:12
and I love golf so much I wanted to get
14:16
into the business side of it so I went
14:18
to Coastal Carolina University and they
14:20
have a PGA program where you can get
14:22
your membership and also business degree
14:24
so it was a great a great program to do
14:27
both of that 90o is a ton of nitrogen
14:31
setting up your schedule where you have
14:33
your classes in the morning and you just
14:34
go up the rest of the day that's signed
14:39
up it was like a big choice on something
14:41
at education they had so when I my goal
14:44
is to play Tour golf I wanted to get see
14:46
how good I could get figure if I can hit
14:50
great thousands of balls a day at least
14:52
as many as possible and we've got the
14:54
track man and we've got the hitting base
14:57
we've got three instructors available
14:59
all day long how could you not become a
15:03
tour player with the work ethic you put
15:05
into it well what I found was my first
15:08
messenger in I was putting all the work
15:11
in in fact we had this practice vlog and
15:13
I should have brought here but there was
15:15
a log you log
15:15
you're practiced as courier for each day
15:20
and how many balls you hit him what you
15:21
did and I swear that log was worn out in
15:23
the first semester like all 30 pages of
15:25
it and I wasn't getting any better I had
15:28
taken so many lessons and I was just
15:31
about throwing my clubs in the lake I
15:32
was done I was about ready to give up
15:35
the dream of playing golf playing
15:38
playing golf or even just playing off
15:40
the rest of my life for anything I'm
15:41
just ready to take up basket-weaving
15:43
something else and it just so happened
15:49
that I had to take a plane test you have
15:52
to take one to become a PGA member
15:53
because they don't want the average
15:55
people shooting they want PGM ever
15:57
remember shooting in the hundreds right
15:58
you got a pass it doesn't look good
16:01
doesn't look good for their for their
16:03
kind of their their program and their
16:07
yeah they want to have notice hold
16:09
quality with the membership there I
16:11
don't be able to have some some
16:12
reputation quality with the name and I
16:15
remember my first playing test I shot
16:18
like in 95 80 or something ridiculous
16:21
and I was ready to throw my clubs in the
16:23
lake again and then that next semester I
16:27
had to go on an internship and I met
16:29
this golf pro at this golf course where
16:32
he was my mentor and I said hey I'm at
16:36
absolute rock bottom here
16:38
can you help right hey thinking I'm his
16:42
grasping at straws and he said yeah
16:44
let's just go out at lunchtime on your
16:46
break and we'll just do a quick little
16:47
lesson for half an hour okay great go
16:51
out there and give you an idea about my
16:54
background I'm all traditional golf
16:56
swing at this point no not open anything
16:59
outside of that room so I'm all about
17:01
shifting your weight lifting your arms
17:03
release in the hands all those
17:06
traditional things that you all probably
17:07
learned on YouTube and in the magazines
17:10
most commonly so I'm very against and
17:13
not open to trying something such as
17:15
stack until heaven heavens I said those
17:17
two words but the pros said when I got
17:22
on the range you saw my swing he saw me
17:24
lift my arms up he saw me shift my
17:25
weight and saw me hacking it I'll play
17:27
an army be off left and right
17:29
he said all right after about three
17:31
balls he had enough he said stop okay
17:33
here's what I want you to do I want you
17:36
to put your weight on your left leg
17:37
about 55 or 60 percent and then in the
17:40
backswing I want you to instead of
17:42
lifting only take it around your body
17:43
I'm like that sounds like stack until
17:47
and he's like just shut up and hit the
17:50
ball and my mind the time I didn't have
17:55
an open mind to this I mean John talks
17:57
about how you gotta have an open mind
17:59
for this I had no other options I was I
18:02
was right I would you know I bought him
18:05
anything off the street from anybody and
18:08
the first ball I hit was like this
18:11
beautiful push draw and it was farther
18:12
than I've ever hit a 6-iron in my life I
18:15
was like I didn't feel like anything and
18:18
then I did it again didn't again I did
18:21
it again to have a five of them in a row
18:23
beautiful divot beautiful ball flight
18:25
they're all draws I didn't hit draw
18:27
since like 1993 when I was born and so
18:31
from that moment I was sold and then
18:35
when I started getting more into the
18:38
swing I wanted to help as many people as
18:41
possible realize that buttery feeling of
18:44
impact it didn't have to be thousands of
18:46
balls a day in fact in two weeks after
18:48
that lesson I only practice a couple
18:50
days and hit like 10 balls between lunch
18:52
each day and I shot a 74 from the tips
18:56
on a really difficult golf course
18:58
I went from playing the white tee
19:00
shooting ninety-five of that course to
19:01
shooting a 74 from the tips and that was
19:06
a look at my pace like how how you can't
19:10
even comprehend the amount of
19:11
improvement you don't even know what
19:13
just happened like a week two weeks
19:14
before that I was in the dumps and here
19:16
here we are playing the best off ever
19:18
and so I wanted to just take a mission
19:22
from that moment forward and just share
19:23
that with the rest of the world saying
19:25
can we do this as a community golfers
19:29
and for your player ability tests like
19:34
what do you have what like what do you
19:37
have to shoot in order to to pass that
19:40
so you can become right right so it
19:43
it's the slope rating the course divided
19:45
by 2 but it usually factors out to be
19:47
like 279 s and you play 36 holes in one
19:51
day
19:51
and you got to shoot you're playing for
19:53
your career they make it easy for you
19:56
they put all the holes in the middle of
19:58
the green or the fattest part of the
19:59
green but like I said there's that
20:01
mental element of playing for your
20:02
career that gets your nerves up you sure
20:07
yeah I'm sure so it's basically it's
20:09
it's it's kind of based on how hard
20:11
right right it's based on how hard the
20:13
courses and I remember that day I was
20:17
taking the p80 I had been doing this new
20:20
swing for about a year and I just on
20:23
that range I was so nervous I was like
20:26
taking little I swear I was taking
20:28
animal pelts behind the ball it felt
20:30
like a foot behind the ball and I was so
20:32
nervous but then I remembered what I
20:34
learned through this swing was you know
20:36
if I could just keep my weight on the
20:37
left side and I can just swing my arms
20:39
and I really think too much about the
20:41
swing not get too technical
20:42
I can hit ball first every time so I
20:45
went out there and I turned what was
20:48
like a terrible rain session before the
20:50
round went on that first tee just kept
20:52
the way forward swung the arms hit ball
20:55
first almost every single time passed my
20:57
p80 yeah so you didn't even have enough
21:01
stuff on that day and and you were able
21:04
to pass it in in a new swing that yeah
21:09
it was almost like we're going into
21:10
France to speak to like live there and I
21:13
had hadn't even spoke French about a
21:15
week you know it's like one of those
21:16
things you're learning a new language
21:18
and then you're going right in red for
21:19
next week you have no experience there
21:21
well that's what it felt like and on
21:23
that first tee I told my playing
21:25
partners yeah you guys are gonna witness
21:27
a miracle today because that range
21:28
session my body was right behind me
21:30
let's see me lay sod and then I went on
21:32
the tee and I started keeping the
21:33
wakeboard
21:34
it all worked out beautifully yeah
21:38
David David just asked what did he shoot
21:41
to pass his PhD what it was like 79 80
21:45
I shot 279 s around a dot and it was
21:48
because of my cutting actually that it
21:50
got that close I didn't want it to ever
21:52
get bad yes but I played like 74 golf
21:56
long game my punting they used to call
21:58
me three-putt tom so it's not that bad
22:03
anymore it's just back in the day in
22:06
college it was it was an event right
22:10
right I think you know what the great
22:12
thing about that story and and why I
22:15
wanted you to share that is because I
22:17
think it it provides people with some
22:23
hope if they are struggling with their
22:25
golf game that you can turn it around
22:28
and it doesn't have to take a year no
22:31
I've finished absolutely right I'm one
22:34
of those people that would like I said
22:35
work ethic wise go to the range beat
22:37
balls I know so many people like that we
22:40
go to the range because we we have the
22:42
swing and it feels great that one day
22:44
and then we're worried it's not going to
22:45
come back the next day so we hit more
22:47
balls and then we come back the next day
22:49
we wonder is it gonna be back as I swing
22:51
gonna be there it's gonna show up maybe
22:52
maybe
22:53
well with this swing right acree weeks
22:56
off at a time in fact that one video
22:58
that blew up the one where I got in
22:59
front of the camera and I was saying
23:01
what's going on here like what are we
23:04
doing as a society golfer we need to get
23:06
this figured out this is so much easier
23:08
why make it so hard
23:10
ready I just thought of a cruise ship
23:12
boom heared the shot it was actually my
23:13
first full swing since getting off the
23:15
cruise right yeah hey guys we'll get to
23:20
questions here in a minute we have a
23:21
whole section just mapped out for the q
23:24
and A's thanks for sharing that time I
23:27
think that's awesome we're going to go
23:29
ahead and get actually we're gonna be
23:31
playing some video clips right now all
23:36
right so these were three things that
23:40
Tom really feels that could really kind
23:43
of completely change your ball striking
23:47
which is weight forward hands in and
23:49
shoulder down and we're gonna play a
23:51
couple clips they're not very long clips
23:54
so you guys can and then we'll have Tom
23:57
kind of talk us through that so just so
24:01
you know the glass is centered the
24:03
pre-class you're getting is centered
24:05
around these three things and we're
24:07
gonna talk about them so it's really
24:08
important yeah
24:11
yeah and if you guys haven't gotten the
24:13
free class don't worry about it because
24:16
I will be sending that out later on
24:18
tonight after after we get done here all
24:23
right so let's go ahead and get this
24:25
rate for like a crazy shlump
24:27
are you tired of hitting the ball like a
24:28
crazy slob yeah me a second here I'm
24:34
going to fast-forward this get over it
24:37
deep a little too far every time and
24:44
have repeatable good contact every
24:46
single time what does this hold hold on
24:48
guys well it tells us this bottom part
24:51
of the hula hoop is the low point of the
24:53
swing that's where the club is gonna
24:55
make contact with the ground it's the
24:57
most important thing there we go all
25:02
right I'm gonna get over it get over it
25:06
hit it the pure strikes of your life now
25:10
the tip I received wasn't quite
25:12
literally get over it Tom but it's
25:15
related to that it's called weight
25:17
forward these the importance of getting
25:20
your weight forward in the setup and
25:21
keeping that weight forward throughout
25:23
the golf swing it is so transformative
25:25
you don't want to miss this lesson this
25:28
hula-hoop is a representation of the
25:30
golf swing the golf swing is a circle
25:33
plain and simple
25:34
it's not a giant oval where we swing
25:36
back and swing through this way it's
25:38
just a circle go back to geometry class
25:41
get your compasses out we're gonna draw
25:43
perfect circles if you can draw a
25:45
perfect circle with your golf swing
25:46
you'll hit the ball same spot every time
25:49
and have repeatable good contact every
25:51
single time what does this hole hook
25:53
tell us well it tells us this bottom
25:56
part of the hula hoop is the low point
25:59
of the swing that's where the club is
26:00
gonna make contact with the ground it's
26:02
the most important thing you want to
26:04
control when it comes to contact because
26:06
that bottom right there moves throughout
26:09
the swing you can see it's kind of like
26:11
trying to time it up it's almost
26:14
impossible make consistent good contact
26:16
you're always going to be guessing do
26:18
you want to have consistent contact
26:19
today you've got to keep the low point
26:21
of the swing in
26:23
same spot but the whole time how do we
26:26
do that step 1 put place the weight on
26:30
the front leg to lead like the weight
26:32
forward it's gonna help us maintain that
26:35
same point of contact why is that well
26:38
if I'm a shifter I load one side and
26:43
then I load the other side
26:44
Mike hula-hoop moves to the right and to
26:47
the left
26:48
good luck timing it folks if you want to
26:51
play the timing game you shouldn't be
26:53
here on this channel this channel is
26:55
only for people that want to hit it
26:56
consistently in the same spot every time
26:57
go somewhere else where they teach you
26:59
to shift and lift we got this whole hoop
27:00
right here when I place my weight
27:02
forward and throughout my golf swing
27:05
keep the weight there on the front side
27:07
my hula hoop doesn't shift to the right
27:11
or to the left it stays constant now
27:14
assume I got to turn my shoulders in a
27:16
circle around my body the wool hoops
27:19
gonna stay in the same place throughout
27:20
the swing that's point number one you
27:24
want a same point of contact let's get
27:26
the weight forward here we go board here
27:28
we go you're not used to getting the
27:32
weight forward because okay so your
27:37
first point time as far as weight
27:39
forward talk us through why that is just
27:44
so crucial sure firstly you saw the hula
27:46
hoop and I think that's the best analogy
27:49
I can ever give you for how the golf
27:51
swing works it's just a circle if we
27:54
draw a perfect circle like in in
27:55
geometry class on a piece of paper at
27:57
the bottom of that circle as I just
27:59
mentioned in the video is your contact
28:02
point now why is this a big deal well
28:04
the number one fundamental in golf is to
28:07
have a consistent point of contact every
28:09
single time and you watch the pros on TV
28:12
all dirt all the dirt ball and dirt and
28:15
it's not like a bunch of robots the
28:17
number one problem I hear from amateur
28:19
golfers on the lesson tee they always
28:21
want more consistency so number one
28:25
reason they don't have consistency is
28:26
their weights going all over the place
28:28
the contact point for them is always
28:30
moving in fact when you watch golf
28:33
swings you can you can put a Majan Airy
28:35
circle around somebody's
28:36
and if they shift around you'll actually
28:39
see this imaginary circle move for us
28:42
you'll see say no wonder they're
28:43
inconsistent they're shifted all over
28:45
the place it's like spinning a roulette
28:47
we all in saying what are we gonna get
28:49
next fat then clean no no
28:51
so the weight forward really anchors the
28:54
contact point and not only that it's so
28:58
important because the rest of your swing
28:59
ends up working the other two components
29:01
the hands in the shoulder down work
29:04
because the weight is forward and you'll
29:06
find that out at your own swing as you
29:08
try out some of these moves on the
29:10
Ranger when you go practice that's
29:15
awesome yeah and it's funny when I was
29:19
like looking to change my swing and
29:21
whatnot and I was just I saw all these
29:24
like different little videos and stuff
29:26
and so some people may be familiar with
29:30
athletic motion golf but they kind of
29:34
measure like every those two guys I
29:36
think Sean Webb and I thought the other
29:38
guys Mike something they like measure
29:42
they measure everything and it was funny
29:48
when they they were looking at pros and
29:50
like during their takeaway and that
29:53
every pro is a little bit different
29:55
right but one of their videos kind of
29:57
stood out to me because they said as
29:58
soon as that's right Rick oh yes they
30:01
use gears um as soon as they as soon as
30:05
they as soon as they start going back
30:08
they're saying they're already a lot
30:11
like a bunch of pros are already
30:13
shifting that they basically were trying
30:16
to tell people like they when they were
30:18
teaching people like when does the when
30:21
does the transition happen and they were
30:23
basically saying it pretty much happens
30:25
I'll start taking the club those who are
30:28
already going forward so I found that
30:32
real oh one thing you can get there is
30:34
just watch the players on TV and you'll
30:37
see they're neat there look at their
30:39
kneecaps these are the kneecaps right
30:40
here and as they take the club back the
30:43
kneecaps start working like this and so
30:46
for you to have your kneecap down you've
30:48
got to have weight on that leg
30:49
there's no
30:50
way I've tried to put my body in
30:52
contorted positions to see you know
30:55
could I have my knee down while having a
30:57
bunch of weight on the right side I
30:58
could but it doesn't really work like
31:00
the pros do so you get really contorted
31:04
an awkward do it any other way
31:05
but as you take that Club back the
31:07
weight works like this and then you see
31:10
them push off of that weight on the
31:11
downswing that's how you see like Rory
31:12
McIlroy everybody's doing it now they
31:15
push off the ground and they almost jump
31:17
up in the air creating all that speed
31:20
yeah and real quick I know there might
31:23
be a couple folks who might not hear or
31:28
some of the videos a little slow I just
31:30
want you guys to know that I'm gonna be
31:32
sending everything out and there's going
31:34
to be a replay of this it's just we're
31:37
maxed out as far as the people in here
31:41
so there might be a couple folks with
31:44
with a little bit of issues okay so
31:48
let's go ahead we're gonna go to the
31:49
next video here hey there's two Guto
31:56
golfers Tom Segundo he pay their sagoo
31:58
doe golfers Tom sagoo doe here PGA
32:00
member founder of Segundo Golf and in
32:03
this week's episode we are uncovering to
32:05
swing keys that changed my golfing life
32:08
forever and I think they'll change your
32:10
golfing life forever too and for the
32:12
better your ball striking will go
32:14
through the roof more distance better
32:16
consistency with these two keys and
32:18
these two keys came from my first stack
32:22
and tilt lessons so your hold on one
32:24
second guys I got to get the the time
32:27
and on they're learning exactly what I
32:29
learn that first lesson you're learning
32:31
exactly what I learn that first lesson
32:33
and it changed me forever took me from
32:35
shooting ninety five to seventy five and
32:37
a span much everybody on tour takes
32:41
their hands and they won't tell you here
32:43
we are the drill setup you know why we
32:45
take the hands in it's not so much more
32:46
power potential there's no need to drop
32:48
the club in the slot anymore which means
32:51
less reliance on the hands for timing a
32:54
lot of less hand-eye coordination it's
32:56
more a body centric swing it's more body
32:58
friendly because it gets the body
33:00
turning how many more benefits
33:02
so I need to list here here's what we
33:05
need to do get us out just like this
33:06
target line club head line hand path
33:10
line you can use clubs doesn't matter
33:12
sticks clubs it all works we're gonna
33:14
focus on training this motion here we go
33:17
so I'm going to do things in threes I
33:19
like to practice in threes because it
33:22
helps you ingrain the motion much
33:24
quicker and if you recall I'm a big
33:26
proponent of exaggerating the feel
33:29
here's what we need to do if you trace
33:31
these lines you'll take the club in and
33:33
up there we go hands in hands behind my
33:38
right shoulder that's the benchmark I
33:40
want to get - Wow Wow so the hands in so
33:52
talk to us a little bit about the hands
33:55
in tom tom we've lost young we lost you
34:05
on audio this power source is for your
34:10
golf swing because the golf swings a
34:12
circle and I'm gonna do with my t-rex
34:13
arms here but if you imagine a tilted
34:15
circle here when I take the club back on
34:18
this tilted angle I've got to naturally
34:20
go around my body so if you tilt the
34:23
circle over you got to go around your
34:24
body a lot of people are taught to go
34:26
straight back and up when I go around my
34:28
body taking the club in you can get more
34:32
hip turn and not only that you get more
34:35
power potential because you're not
34:37
getting the business of lifting and then
34:39
chopping or lifting dropping in the
34:41
hitting it's a lot of work there's that
34:44
magical position people talk about the
34:46
downswing getting in the slot like you
34:48
know dropping it the slot and the hands
34:52
in just puts your hands right in the
34:55
slot in the backswing so you don't have
34:56
to think about it over downswing you're
34:58
right there and then the down swings are
35:00
already good to go it's very powerful in
35:02
fact most your backswing it's just like
35:06
a one-two punch take it in and then just
35:08
send it right yeah you know for me when
35:14
I when I when I
35:16
are trying some of the things that
35:18
you've been teaching one of the things
35:19
that I struggle with is that i-i-i had
35:25
too long of a swing so I would fill my
35:27
swing and even when I felt like I was
35:29
only going to like 9 o'clock my club was
35:33
getting way too far and I felt like if I
35:37
was at 9 o'clock I had like no time to
35:40
generate power basically what like the
35:44
hands in gives you enough death right
35:46
like you say in one of your videos like
35:48
hey you get you can be Bubba Watson
35:51
right who's freakish or if you take it
35:54
you can still get a lot of width in your
35:56
swing and death and you'll have Moreno
36:00
basically how many of us could be Bubba
36:03
Watson flexibility wise or we my back
36:06
could be shot after three or four swings
36:08
doing a swing like that and I used to
36:10
swing like that I had back pain but when
36:12
I started doing the hands in it was half
36:16
the effort double the power because I'm
36:19
not trying to coordinate all these
36:21
dropping and and you know swinging to
36:23
the ball mechanisms I'm just here and
36:25
here and yeah if I bring the club up
36:28
here I've got a ton of width but what
36:32
are you gonna do with this you got to
36:33
drop it then you got to hit it well I
36:35
get the same amount as that nice going
36:37
here and it's much easier to control a
36:41
ton of players are doing that on TV I
36:43
look at Tony FINA Charlie Hoffman are
36:46
great examples really effortless looking
36:48
shorter swings John ROM they're really
36:51
short swings but they hit the ball so
36:53
far yeah they do and you said I think
37:00
you mentioned in that video like you you
37:02
some people really might have to
37:04
exaggerate this move in order for them
37:07
to really drag it all right being a
37:10
former all lifters in the room raise
37:11
your hand
37:13
former lifter here you know hello my
37:16
name is Tom and I'm a lifter holic
37:18
former licker
37:20
yeah we got a few people around you
37:22
people over here Rick Rick Mike and
37:25
Ronnie they're almost hungry I'd lift is
37:28
there a lot of current lifters
37:31
Danny my happy Rick's getting lowered
37:37
brian says no way
37:39
okay yeah well it's no surprise about
37:43
95% of the golf repopulation left and
37:47
it's unfortunate because it's so much
37:49
effort yeah brian says he's a reformed
37:54
lifter and was a never lifter but a
37:58
swear
37:59
yeah and I'll tell you as far as an
38:01
exaggeration goes I took a lesson here
38:06
in Tampa that's where that's where I
38:08
live that's where up close at ism Tampa
38:10
I remember when I went to get a lesson I
38:17
he he actually wanted me to lift so you
38:20
know it was one of those traditional
38:22
things but it was funny he kept telling
38:24
me to lift and I thought I was lifting
38:26
and he's like Shawn he's like he's like
38:29
you gotta know something about calls
38:31
he's like I'm asking for foot but I'm
38:33
hoping for like you have answered that
38:35
it couldn't you know real words have not
38:37
been spoken and golf like those are yeah
38:39
we if you're a lifter in this room which
38:42
most of you are based on the comments
38:43
you're going to feel like I'm gonna
38:46
stand up here for a second
38:48
you're gonna feel like this you will
38:51
feel like this I mean even here here
38:53
right we're going here we want to I get
38:55
here you got a feel here it's it's just
38:58
how how your body learns because if it
39:01
feels normal
39:02
you haven't made a change if you feel
39:05
like oh I allow anyone say oh this feels
39:08
really good this feels really good and
39:10
say you haven't made a change cuz we own
39:12
the lesson he'll say man I love this new
39:13
backswing you just taught me tough you
39:15
haven't made a change you got to go
39:17
lower
39:18
Yeah right right
39:21
Isabella that's awesome so Isabella was
39:24
just talking about how she's increased
39:26
her driver distance by 40 yards much
39:29
easier swing I was taught in Taiwan and
39:33
10 shots better so she just moved here
39:35
in the last year that's awesome Tim and
39:38
Brian
39:38
you guys are bucks fans they're kind of
39:41
like Mike's
39:42
second favorite team but I'm like I'm
39:43
here on the show I want y'all to have
39:45
just just women on hands in to imagine
39:48
high-fiving yourself this is the ball
39:52
high-five that was probably really well
39:54
but the idea is when you lift and then
39:59
you chop this is what you're doing to
40:01
the golf ball if you want hit it
40:03
powerful go around boom it's so much
40:06
simpler that way instead of having to do
40:08
the awkward high-five
40:11
that's awesome yeah a lot of people
40:14
Randy was just saying that he's starting
40:17
to draw his uh his driver hey Michael I
40:21
got it I got it Rick says excuse a
40:28
mirror you got to matter and match your
40:30
feel with it's real so if you're feeling
40:32
like if you look in the mirror you see
40:34
you're still high even though it feels
40:35
like this you've got to keep going lower
40:37
until you get there I mean there's
40:39
especially when you're doing self-guided
40:41
like this you don't have anybody really
40:43
teaching you except over the internet
40:45
you've got to go lower and lower until
40:48
you get it where it should be and it's
40:50
beyond the shoulder line I mean yeah
40:52
total are down right hey guys yeah we
40:56
stopped the video the video hasn't been
40:58
playing so the video clips are only like
41:01
a minute or two and we're talking about
41:04
it I don't know and we're gonna get to
41:08
the all the questions you guys have
41:10
about slicing Danny and all that good
41:12
stuff all right so we got one more short
41:14
clip here yeah yeah the shoulder line or
41:21
slightly below you could get away with
41:24
or slightly below about this is fine too
41:27
about there but any lower you start to
41:31
run in some issues and any higher you
41:32
run its issues alright let's go ahead
41:39
and get this last video down there norms
41:41
and offense Tom hey they're going
41:43
offense Tom Saguna here PGA member and
41:45
founder of cejudo Golf and this week
41:47
I've got two simple keys for the best
41:50
backswing and downswing of your life so
41:54
let's get started who doesn't want this
41:56
here's the recipe for success we are
42:00
going to learn the backswing one you
42:02
need to tilt for a good solid back swing
42:06
and then on the downswing need to extend
42:07
for insane power and everybody on TVs
42:10
doing this all the best players do this
42:12
and if you focus on these two keys this
42:16
will really get you rocking and rolling
42:18
the backswing here's something we need
42:21
to do in the backswing makes our
42:22
backswing really solid we turn our
42:25
shoulders 90 degrees to our spine but a
42:28
lot of people instead of doing that they
42:31
lose their relationship to the ball by
42:33
turning their shoulders level like this
42:35
so they have this type of situation
42:38
going on which isn't good for your back
42:40
and on the downswing usually you have
42:42
that what we need to do instead is turn
42:46
our shoulders 90 degrees to our spine
42:48
you've heard me talk about this a
42:49
million times I'm gonna make it really
42:51
simple though what we need to do in the
42:53
backswing is tilt or turn our left
42:55
shoulder down
42:55
so the tilting motion is exactly this
42:58
with some turn now I'm exaggerating here
43:02
but you might say well there's no tilt
43:05
in the golf swing
43:06
I don't see a bunch of people swinging
43:08
like this well yeah you don't really see
43:11
them doing that but if you turn your
43:12
swing at a 45 degree angle like this and
43:16
I make my backswing
43:18
I'm fully tilted to left I'm not
43:22
standing here straight and just attorney
43:24
nope the shoulder tilt the spine tilt to
43:29
the target it's critical for getting
43:33
your club on playing in the backswing
43:35
because as I tilt this shoulder down or
43:37
as I tell my spine to the left as I'm
43:39
going through the backswing
43:41
it's setting the club on the proper
43:43
plane the tilting provides the upward
43:47
movement of the club so there's no need
43:49
to lift you're essentially just turning
43:51
your chest and the shoulders going down
43:54
by tilting so you see that takeaway
43:57
right there turn your chest toward away
43:59
from the target shoulders going down
44:01
there's your takeaway bodies turned I'm
44:03
not thinking about anything else
44:06
so you take this relationship here you
44:09
turn your chest to the right or to the
44:12
camera here I shut left shoulders down
44:14
my lead shoulder okay that's what you
44:18
should do
44:18
you're focusing on spine tilt spine tilt
44:21
to the left we have to turn there's the
44:23
backswing so when you go through the
44:26
backswing you might notice I hit one I'm
44:31
gonna tilt there we go perfect backswing
44:35
and how do you know it's perfect your
44:37
left arm your lead arm should be on your
44:38
shoulder line not low not above no
44:42
lifting and also your head's gonna be in
44:45
place because as you tilt you keep your
44:47
head in place your spine is going to
44:49
extend so here we go with back swing
44:52
boom heads in place I've turned great
44:57
tile back swing position that was all
45:00
due to me just tilting and turning my
45:03
spine like this the club reacted there
45:08
we go
45:09
so you hit a shot make sure I keep
45:12
everything in place all right we stopped
45:19
the video guys all right so shoulder or
45:23
shelter downtown it's huge
45:27
and and and I think a lot of people
45:30
don't they don't realize about the the
45:34
left side Bend or side tilt that
45:38
actually happens yeah and your back
45:40
you're tilting only toward the target
45:43
which is the amount of down that you
45:45
need a nice thing about this
45:47
there's no lifting required in this
45:49
swing because if you tilt enough if you
45:52
had a club I mean many of you are
45:54
probably in your living room or
45:55
somewhere in your office right now with
45:56
the computer it tilts enough the club
45:58
goes up so it gives you the upward
46:01
movement of the club but just by tilting
46:02
and would you believe that our shirts
46:05
have a built-in tilting device meter
46:08
right here if you're Pope you got a polo
46:10
shirt right now we we didn't know this
46:13
until the 21st century this little spot
46:15
right here is designed for your
46:18
shoulders to get to
46:19
and it's just below that bottom button
46:21
your shoulder goes down to this area and
46:25
then it turns over now all of you got
46:27
the turn we've all been taught to turn
46:29
I've seen more turn you know I see an
46:32
upturn you get that shoulder in your
46:34
chin turn turn turn you never see the
46:36
tilt so if you can get this shoulder
46:39
down to replace this spot but that gets
46:43
enough down and around then you you are
46:46
good to go in fact you have some space
46:48
between your shoulder and your chin at
46:50
the top instead of it hitting you a lot
46:53
of people are told to hit that shoulder
46:55
on your chin or like get it just under
46:57
your chin hit your chin like that gets
46:59
you I mean the shoulder down is to have
47:02
a relationship with the ball so when I
47:03
turn my shoulders down I've got a
47:06
relationship maintained
47:07
hello ball how are you you want to have
47:10
a good time you want to tell the golf
47:12
ball what to do you want the ball to do
47:13
what you want it to do you got to turn
47:15
the shoulder down yeah you know and I
47:20
was watching another video and I forget
47:26
who it was but it was another person who
47:29
was measuring stuff right and this was
47:31
pros versus a pros versus Am's video I
47:34
don't think I can't remember who was
47:35
athletic motion golf again or someone
47:37
else I don't remember who put it out but
47:40
they said one of the biggest differences
47:42
between a pro golfer and an amateur
47:45
golfer was that side toe they were
47:49
basically saying like I think on average
47:52
and I don't know what club they they had
47:53
but pros were really close to 40% like
47:56
most of them were between like 38 and
47:59
like 4 2 % somewhere between there and
48:02
they said most amateurs were at like 30
48:04
or 31 percent which is like that's a
48:07
huge difference you know what I mean
48:08
like that's like a you know that's like
48:10
a 30% difference as far as how much
48:13
someone's actually tilting versus not
48:14
tilting so I think you know when I
48:18
started watching all this stuff we'll go
48:21
ahead and move forward here because I
48:22
want to leave some time for Q&A s when I
48:26
started watching all this stuff and and
48:28
learning I don't even know if I came to
48:29
your video yet some of your videos but I
48:33
started watching all this stuff I saw
48:34
another one with me and my golf and
48:39
Pierce was changing his swing and stuff
48:42
like that and someone in the comments
48:43
was like hey it looks like what you're
48:46
trying to do is more stack and tilt um
48:49
so I thought all that stuff was
48:52
interesting and then I came across your
48:53
videos and my own swing issues everyone
48:57
is so I was a IIIi did the I did the top
49:04
top speed golf clay Ballard I'm sure a
49:07
lot of you guys have heard of clay
49:10
Ballard I went through his program at
49:13
and this isn't a knock on clay or
49:15
anything I think clays great I think his
49:17
I think his teaching and stuff that he
49:20
does is great it just for me I was just
49:23
my back was killing me and you know like
49:28
I said about earlier about my swing was
49:31
just too long and I just wasn't giving
49:33
enough depth or whatever but I had to
49:35
change because my back was just was just
49:38
hurting me so I saw all these other
49:40
videos of people kind of talking and
49:43
just kind of pieced it all together that
49:45
like this is like stack and tilt and
49:48
then Tom when you were going over your
49:50
stuff usually you're you just really
49:52
resonated with me and I was able to go
49:55
out immediately on my first range
49:58
session and was able to strike balls
50:01
crate and my driver dispersion which is
50:04
the worst Club in my bag is my driver my
50:06
irons are pretty good but my driver
50:10
dispersion is you know I'm playing army
50:13
golf you know left right left right
50:15
Oscar Bravo out of Bounce my driver
50:18
dispersion immediately totally narrowed
50:23
and then I don't lose any distance or
50:26
anything like that I bet if you took all
50:28
my shots I might have averaged even a
50:29
little bit more just because I'm I miss
50:31
hits
50:32
we're so few and far between and that's
50:35
why I say results results results
50:37
because you can't argue you know with
50:41
the result and everyone on here
50:44
has been commenting about some of the
50:46
results that they seen with some of your
50:49
coaching and things like that so I think
50:53
I think I think that's great I think
50:55
those three things can really help a lot
50:58
of golfers and and just before we go
51:00
into the QA those three things are all
51:02
related like if the weight is Ford you
51:06
can turn your shoulder down more the
51:08
weight is forward you can you can bring
51:09
the club in more things things do won't
51:12
happen unless you have these three
51:13
pieces they're all integral to your sway
51:15
and once you get them you got all right
51:20
so let's go ahead and get to some of
51:22
these questions guys you might have to
51:24
ask it twice because we got everyone is
51:26
still in here all right which is crazy
51:30
it's but I'm gonna try to get to all
51:33
these questions
51:36
so Bob asked Tom I know feels need to be
51:42
exaggerated but my question is in the
51:44
backswing does your upper body ever lean
51:47
outside or over if you draw a circle
51:50
around your shoulder that's a great
51:52
question by the way cuz that's really
51:54
important with how we turn the shoulders
51:55
if you draw a circle around my shoulders
51:57
you're gonna find that my upper body
52:00
will pretty much stay as central as
52:03
possible even though I'm tilting left
52:05
because I'm turning and tilting my
52:08
shoulders will stay in a circle which
52:11
means that because you don't like if you
52:13
go if you find your provider gets out in
52:14
front of your lower body
52:16
you'll start hitting it thin or you
52:18
start introducing a different variable
52:20
into the swing because once I tilt out
52:23
in front I've moved my hula hoop forward
52:26
so we're trying to keep that swing
52:29
circle in the same spot
52:30
you won't find me moving in either
52:33
direction I should be pretty central all
52:39
right cool Steve asked he's been working
52:43
on this for a few weeks he's basically
52:46
saying when I shift my weight to the
52:47
front leg I feel like I'm aimed way
52:49
right of the target but when I when I
52:51
look at my target it's over my left
52:53
shoulder before I shift my weight I feel
52:57
he
52:58
feels that he is on target my brain just
53:00
isn't trusting in it I seen the pool
53:02
shots should it should I change my
53:04
stance to be a little bit open how can i
53:07
address the alignment should the ball
53:10
belt buckle and shirt button be that's
53:13
that's a really good one because so
53:16
we're looking at alignment and how the
53:18
shoulders are turning well if I'm taking
53:22
the club back and I would say I'm going
53:25
in with it you're probably working on
53:26
getting the club more head it's a common
53:29
thing I'll see people do is as they're
53:31
taking the club back they'll shift their
53:32
entire body like this they'll kind of
53:34
level out a little bit which then I
53:36
can't give you a good angle from here
53:37
but what that does is it ends it ends up
53:39
Amy your shoulders more that direction
53:42
you said to the left was the left right
53:47
I think he's yeah I think he feels like
53:50
yeah I think he feels like he's aimed to
53:51
the right okay I'm not trying to
53:53
overconfidence in the sling you feel
53:54
like you came at the right which means
53:56
yeah you're probably losing that
53:58
shoulder down and then when you level
54:01
out it points your shoulder more to the
54:02
right that's just one of those common
54:05
issues but see there best way to get
54:08
that feeling is - yeah exaggerate is
54:11
important what was the second part of
54:13
that was the first part of that question
54:14
with the feel hey yeah so he was saying
54:18
when he shifts his weight to the front
54:20
leg I feel like I'm aimed right but when
54:22
he looks at my when he when I look at my
54:25
target it's over my gosh oh okay yeah
54:27
I'm just trying to visualize it so if if
54:30
we think about shifting weight to our
54:32
front leg it kind of changes a lot of
54:35
how our body works I like to think about
54:37
I think if we shift weight forward that
54:40
will get you pointing right now I'm not
54:42
shifting weight forward what I'm doing
54:45
is I place weight forward first in a set
54:48
up and then as I turn my shoulder down I
54:51
add sway for me I'm not adding more
54:53
weight consciously I think what is
54:56
happening is as you're shifting that
54:57
weight forward and I've seen this among
55:00
a lot of players I can demonstrate the
55:01
hips it's kind of like the hips move
55:03
they when they shift the way forward
55:04
I'll see this in the backswing which
55:07
gets you to point more to the right you
55:10
know
55:11
so you have to be careful with shifting
55:14
in the weight instead just place it and
55:17
then stay there rotate around that that
55:19
hell yeah gosh yeah I think that's
55:22
helpful we have a lot of questions guys
55:26
just so you know we're I'm gonna try to
55:27
get through as many of these cans but
55:29
there's quite a bit on the downswing
55:33
this is from David what initiates the
55:36
downs what initiates the downswing is
55:39
that yes oh right downs what's on the
55:41
backswing we've got a tilt toward the
55:42
target that's that shoulder down on a
55:45
downswing we do the opposite no back the
55:48
other way if you want to know what
55:50
initiates it do a shoulder turn drill
55:52
place the club across your chest get
55:54
into your posture you've seen me do this
55:55
on the channel you know how this works
55:57
but turn your shoulders 90 degrees to
56:00
your spine one way and then turn them
56:02
back the other way while keeping your
56:03
body in that same angle you'll feel the
56:06
downswing get initiated a couple of
56:09
different triggers you got your weight
56:11
forward a trigger that I've used in the
56:13
past is move my weight more forward to
56:16
move it more to the target or you can
56:19
think about pushing off of your left
56:21
foot because it's all that weight there
56:22
or simply just tilting back the other
56:26
way all three will accomplish that
56:31
another David here how far should I be
56:35
swinging my arms back should I try to
56:37
okay so the lead arm is the most
56:39
important of the straight arms in the
56:42
backswing the lead arm is like the
56:45
radius of your circle we need to
56:47
preserve that the trail arm is gonna
56:49
fold so when we take the arm back
56:53
it's gonna go 45 degrees across the
56:55
chest so all you got to do is take your
56:57
lead arm bring it across the chest you
56:59
see how it's nice and connected here
57:01
it's connecting against my side there we
57:03
go okay
57:04
the right arm is gonna fold when I do
57:07
that and that puts me in the proper spot
57:09
so think about how far should it go I
57:13
just think about gluing it to your chest
57:15
and bring it 45 degrees in that'll give
57:18
you a good idea it's gonna be a shorter
57:19
backswing especially if you've been over
57:21
swinging
57:24
Rick I hope that answered your questions
57:27
Rick was saying I know you want both
57:29
arms connected to the chest or the side
57:32
of the chest that is one arm more
57:33
important than the other side was really
57:35
important you've got to glue the right
57:36
arm to your side as if this arm does
57:39
touching in the golf swing it's no good
57:43
we need to peg this arm because if we're
57:46
if we really the backswing is this
57:48
simple I can't believe them it's this
57:50
simple all you do is if you bend forward
57:53
and you connect this connection here and
57:56
this one stays it's not going anywhere
57:57
you bring your arm 45 across the chest
58:00
this arms glued so it's just gonna fold
58:02
for you and look at my shoulders down
58:05
and even think about the shoulders
58:06
that's probably the best and that's
58:08
gonna be a future videos you all got
58:10
heard your first right yeah so bill was
58:17
saying he loves the online lessons but
58:19
he would like written back up do you
58:21
think that the attack is still swing the
58:23
definitive guide to the swing that is
58:25
remaking golf by Andy Plummer and like
58:27
Bennet would be a good idea but there
58:28
you go get the book I recommend
58:33
everybody get this book but you've got
58:34
to be careful because something now
58:37
especially if you're one of those I want
58:40
to go from the next to the next to the
58:41
next step you got to make sure that
58:44
you're working on the right things
58:45
because this book in untrained hands
58:48
could could be very you know there's
58:50
Astra's for your game you got to know
58:52
what you're doing and that's why I think
58:55
supplementing it with what they're
58:56
teaching in like my golf school for
58:58
example is a great way to go through the
59:00
book so you can match up with with the
59:02
content with what I'm doing in the
59:04
visual but I love the book it shows you
59:07
a ton of pictures of the greats and all
59:09
the moves that they do the best players
59:11
doing these moves it just it's really
59:13
great resource for understanding the
59:15
swing mark is asking how would you hit a
59:20
draw or blade okay I wish I had a foot
59:23
cam but what we got to do is understand
59:27
path what the club path is what the
59:30
clubface is so this is the biggest thing
59:34
right here clubface start direction of
59:37
the golf ball first
59:38
if we if we want the ball to do what it
59:41
does on TV or it's got that beautiful
59:42
push to the right and comes back to the
59:44
target the balls got to start to the
59:47
right so we set the clubface open now
59:50
typically that's all you're gonna have
59:51
to do because the weight forward allows
59:54
for you to swing more into out because
59:57
that end out gives you the draw spin and
60:00
so the way forward with an open face
60:02
will give you that start right curve
60:04
back the fade is the opposite we've got
60:07
to start it left to curb right it's my
60:10
weakest shot I'll never hit a fade the
60:11
rest of my life probably working on it
60:13
but if you wanted to you got to point
60:17
the face left and address and you put
60:19
your weight back on your right foot
60:21
which encourages an out to end swing
60:23
path so it curves back the other way I'm
60:27
getting into a series on that in the
60:28
school because it's more easy to see if
60:31
with all the lines and you know the
60:33
visuals on the ground but that's what
60:35
that's what they say in this book that's
60:37
how they teach people how to draw on a
60:39
fade weight back for a fade weight
60:43
forward for a draw gotcha
60:48
all right so Scott is asking he was over
60:53
the top first thing I did to fix things
60:55
and come more from the inside was start
60:57
using a bold left wrist this helped me a
60:59
lot or helped me so much to come more
61:01
from the inside do you I guess he's
61:05
asking do you still see using a boat
61:07
left wrist with these principles that
61:09
you're teaching yeah the wrist moving
61:11
side to side in the golf swing is
61:13
something I'm not a fan of not just
61:14
because the second I move my wrist from
61:16
one side or the other side in the swing
61:18
I changed my contact point so I don't
61:22
think it's necessary but if it's working
61:23
for you stick with it just the way we do
61:27
this swing and making those three
61:30
motions we talked about earlier wait for
61:32
hands and shoulder down there's no need
61:34
for you to bow the wrist to come from
61:35
the inside because you're already put
61:37
the clément from the inside and if you
61:39
just focused on well I got if you saw
61:42
them so yesterday I got this drill where
61:44
you got a swing order stick you know if
61:46
you're over the top just swing under a
61:47
stick placed right about here swing
61:51
under it
61:52
never come over the top again and you
61:53
won't have to think about that wrist in
61:55
fact I recommend that you just take the
61:58
hands back quiet no wrists going either
62:01
way the only thing the wrists will do is
62:03
go up and down in the golf swing gotcha
62:09
Tom if you had to choose this is from
62:11
rich if you had to choose one drill to
62:14
focus on when trying to implement here
62:15
and so there's something a great
62:17
question too because if you're digesting
62:18
all of this on YouTube at one time it's
62:21
tempting to say man this is great let me
62:23
move on the next part this is great let
62:24
me move on the next part it's you want
62:26
to binge watch it and try and get
62:28
everything at once well we got to start
62:30
with the most important part that you
62:32
that you're lacking let's say let's say
62:36
you're turning your shoulders to level
62:37
well we need to start with the shoulder
62:38
down so we need to feel that tilt and I
62:42
would work on that for a couple of weeks
62:44
I wouldn't even try going on the next
62:46
thing until I've got it down I want to
62:48
make and if the golf swings a puzzle so
62:51
you're building pieces here here here
62:52
here once you get the pieces together it
62:55
just then you'll see it so don't think
62:56
too much of our results either at this
62:58
time you're gonna see some great shots
63:01
you also see some really wacky shots but
63:04
you got except that you're making a huge
63:05
change compared to the older traditional
63:07
swing method so you're not used to it
63:13
maril ass is distance adversely
63:17
effective versus a more conventional I
63:19
think you'll you'll find that you can
63:21
create distance in both both swings to
63:25
the convention over and this one you
63:27
could there's many ways to create
63:28
distance million ways of swinging a club
63:30
it's more of a matter of how effortless
63:33
do you want that distance to be this
63:35
swing is the most repeatable and
63:38
effortless one that I've seen out there
63:40
and by effortless I mean it actually
63:42
feels like you're doing nothing and it's
63:44
because of that hands in concept the
63:47
hands entering the hips freely around
63:48
your body so yeah you can create
63:51
distance both ways this one actually has
63:53
more power potential because it's
63:55
limitless I used so if you watch the
63:58
driver video you saw me start at 260
64:00
carry and end up at 300 carry just by
64:03
adding more weight forward throughout
64:05
the
64:06
process so and I wasn't adding any more
64:08
effort till the end when I was trying to
64:10
kill it James said talk about the
64:16
transition I guess maybe maybe one tip
64:18
that that we might be able to - yeah
64:21
sometimes an energy from the backswing
64:23
to downswing so something that would
64:26
help all of you steep golfers in the
64:28
world which is almost all of you I'm
64:30
sorry if I put you on a box but it's so
64:32
true I've taught so many lessons that
64:34
everybody's going this way with the club
64:36
well think about the right arm make it
64:39
to the top your right arms here when you
64:41
go over the top where's your right arm
64:43
go over the top so I'm trying making a
64:47
swing with one hand and you got the
64:49
weighted club go under and that's so
64:52
that's what I at the transition if
64:53
you're struggling with this go the
64:55
opposite and you got to feel opposite
64:57
other than that if we're looking at
64:59
lower body imagine that you want to get
65:03
your hips three inches or so forward
65:06
first and then they'll turn you don't
65:08
think about the term but moving forward
65:10
first and then they turn so that's
65:13
that's two ways to think about the
65:14
transition I know some people like to
65:16
use body some people like to use arms
65:19
that should give you two different ways
65:22
to implement that Mike was asking about
65:26
that you use and I might be able to
65:29
answer this for you because I asked him
65:31
the same thing and I think he said he
65:32
had I got an old baseball net or
65:34
something that he had from like years
65:36
ago it was just an old baseball I think
65:39
we bought the net I care about my dad
65:41
said we set it up in the woods before
65:43
and he's hit baseballs into it yes some
65:46
some industrial hitting net sports that
65:50
Mike Mike I will tell you this I saw a
65:55
video the other day that one of the best
65:59
nets that you can get it has nothing to
66:01
do with golf or baseball is an archery
66:04
net I heard I heard an art because it's
66:08
a little bit heavier so it really
66:09
dampens the impact
66:11
I heard archery that's gotta make a
66:12
chord sound
66:18
oh did I lose you looks like I lost okay
66:23
I think I lost oh I'm sorry I'm sorry
66:32
yeah something happened right I we have
66:33
a second oh did you get a question okay
66:38
yeah why do you think people are
66:40
hesitant about this yeah I think they're
66:42
hesitant and I was in the same boat
66:44
because the media promotes the media was
66:47
promoting so much against it it was
66:49
something very different from what had
66:53
been taught for the past 50 years and
66:55
it's really no different than what the
66:57
best players of all time we're using
66:58
like you look at a Ben Hogan and you see
67:01
almost all the elements if not all of
67:03
them right in there in his swing I think
67:07
people were hesitant because once the
67:09
seat the swing came on the scene they
67:11
were doing they never taught hands and
67:13
her shoulder down the biggest teachers
67:15
never taught hands and shoulder down
67:16
then they always taught a weight shift
67:18
and so a lot of I don't know I guess a
67:20
lot of instructors got intimidated by it
67:22
or the media said this is just wacky
67:24
it's against everything and there was
67:26
this giant movement against it and I was
67:28
one of those people that was against it
67:30
until I had no other choice to it then
67:33
to accept it and the thing about it this
67:35
just works it's a simpler way to swing
67:37
the club I don't know why people get
67:40
against swings because if it's helping
67:43
people on the best golf there should be
67:45
nobody against it cos golf golf is
67:47
struggling right now it needs to be more
67:49
fun right let's see here ed was asking
67:57
that he's been working on a swing
67:59
initiator try to get the club going in
68:04
shoulder down but they've had the best
68:06
success with the right hip going in to
68:08
initiate the sway ya know if you're
68:12
somebody who doesn't turn their hips
68:13
well which I'm guessing you might not
68:15
have much of a hip turn before doing
68:16
this swing you might need to feel that
68:18
and that the initiator of the swing will
68:21
vary from person to person that's why I
68:23
think right now my favorite one is the
68:26
left arm across the chest with this
68:28
connection because it pulls everything
68:29
around but you know
68:32
you might need the initiate with the hip
68:34
it all depends what that looks like you
68:37
might feel your swing start in your
68:38
pinky tail and it works like a charm I
68:41
might feel it starting my right eyeball
68:43
so I know it's such a tough answer
68:46
because I want to answer what is the
68:48
definite start of the golf swing and
68:51
right now I would say left arm
68:54
connection 45 degrees across the chest
68:56
pulling the shoulder down but that's
68:59
it's a tough one it's really a tough one
69:01
to answer
69:05
so Greg was asking how do I think about
69:10
starting the downswing I think we talked
69:12
a little bit about that I think the
69:13
right arm and getting a few inches
69:15
lateral seem to be some of the things
69:18
that the book here I can tell book
69:20
actually says the hold-down swing swing
69:22
will happen if you just push off of that
69:24
weight you've got forward on your left
69:25
leg or your front leg then everything
69:28
reacts it's tempting in the golf swing
69:31
to take control meaning when we get the
69:34
downswing we want to hit the ball best
69:37
tip you can ever get on the golf swing
69:38
is you've got to give up control to get
69:40
control so instead of trying to take
69:42
control of a lot of things
69:43
let's grab you do the rest like we're
69:46
having do the work for you pull the arm
69:47
across chest and then from there let it
69:49
fall
69:49
I mean don't try and control it just let
69:52
the weight take care of it that's a
69:53
great way of initiating it there's so
69:57
many different ways it all depend on
69:59
your swing
70:03
William William asked will you do a
70:05
pitch of the chip video I know you have
70:11
I know you have a short game course as
70:14
well but it looks like he's asking about
70:16
if you're if you have anything come on
70:17
nothing as of right now I've got a ton
70:20
of awesome things on my board right here
70:22
that the golf golf video board I've been
70:25
toying around the idea of doing a pitch
70:27
in chip some specialty type things but
70:30
mostly keeping a lot of those on the
70:32
online golf school because I want to
70:34
explain them in more detail just because
70:37
their systems their systems to play and
70:39
I think if I don't include the whole
70:41
system then it could mislead some people
70:44
so I like the whole swing
70:46
you guys G shoulder down you see the
70:49
hands and you see everything with
70:50
YouTube with full swing and so I'm not
70:52
misleading in the sense that you're
70:54
getting all the pieces David said he's
71:02
developed a reverse see what am i doing
71:06
so reverse see is that position that
71:09
looks like this right your weights
71:12
forward and your back is extended well I
71:16
would say you're not doing anything
71:17
wrong when you start doing this swing
71:24
you're gonna find yourself finishing the
71:27
reverse see has gotten a bad rap and
71:28
everybody says lower back pain it's
71:30
actually your body's reaction if it's
71:32
extending your spines extending out of
71:34
the shot you want to watch a lot of
71:38
players at the end of their swing it's
71:39
you curve in their spine that's the
71:42
extension of their spine if they didn't
71:43
do it they'd end up like this you gotta
71:45
extend with the arm straight not extend
71:49
we see a lot of this but this is
71:51
actually taking stress off the back
71:53
you're doing everything just right dead
71:58
Danny said he bought the short game
72:00
course and he said it's great
72:02
for anyone who's faster than that Jerry
72:06
that Jerry that's awesome Jerry at 77
72:08
years old gained 10 to 12 yards with his
72:11
swing you know it's never too late in it
72:16
it's never too late to start picking up
72:18
this way there's there's never I've got
72:20
too many old habits and I've heard that
72:22
excuse like my swings been stuck in the
72:24
Attic for years and it's never gonna be
72:26
changed well now you can change it in
72:28
one one simple range session yeah
72:32
buzz-buzz ass do you preset your left
72:35
hip a little at address and load your
72:38
left leg and not your right address
72:40
I see it as a full body tilt just a
72:43
little to the target so this is me at
72:45
50/50 everything goes just a little bit
72:48
forward so I'm not moving the hip
72:50
don't preset the hip to move the weight
72:53
forward it's a full body because if you
72:56
preset the hip
72:57
now I've tilted my body too much
73:00
tilt it away from the target now so I
73:03
want to be over the ball the whole way
73:05
so that's that's a great way to preset
73:09
this make sure everything leans low
73:10
forward all right let's see here
73:20
Tom asks how many swings up to the
73:24
course really easy to remember one swing
73:27
thought two is too many
73:29
you couldn't possibly try and coordinate
73:31
all these swing thoughts and try and hit
73:34
a little white ball at a millisecond of
73:35
time is just impossible if you if you go
73:37
out with one swing thought you will have
73:39
a lot more fun and a lot less stress
73:44
David asked some of the old pros lifted
73:47
their left heel how did they keep their
73:49
weight on their yes to this day I've
73:51
tried to get into that position I can't
73:53
physically do it but you look at their
73:56
kneecaps because I try to get this
73:58
position it's really difficult they got
74:00
the the weight they got their kneecap
74:03
like this while keeping their toe I'm
74:06
thinking and what well tilt their hips
74:08
are also tilting at this angle - I mean
74:10
this angle right here so right short
74:13
answer I'm not sure how they got in that
74:15
position but you I'm trying to envision
74:18
how they do it and I don't know maybe it
74:20
was us it was a move they had at that
74:22
time in history I've tried to get in
74:25
that position I could never do it
74:27
it's odd yeah I think I played around
74:33
with it you definitely can but it's just
74:34
not comfortable but it could just bend
74:36
the way people were swinging the club
74:38
and it was just yeah for Sam Snead to
74:40
look so effortless doing that I'm just
74:41
wondering how he looks so comfortable
74:43
lifting that leg off the ground but I
74:46
I'm sure I've tried it it doesn't work
74:49
for my knees but what you're seeing
74:53
you're seeing all the same thank you
74:55
seeing that weight go with us we for the
74:56
lead needs to work like this the way
74:58
it's got to be somewhat forward for that
75:00
for the right hip to be higher than the
75:02
left hip at the top you can't have your
75:04
weight back I mean there's some things
75:06
that happened and you've got to have
75:08
your weight forward for them to happen
75:13
rich was asking is it okay to golf when
75:15
learning this swing I mean I would think
75:18
absolutely rich I would probably
75:20
encourage you to do that yeah I can play
75:22
golf right after I took that first
75:24
lesson just because I wanted to go out
75:26
and play and I just when you go out and
75:29
play don't expect that you're gonna
75:31
shoot even par don't even expect that
75:33
it's gonna be the best round of your
75:34
life just go out and say I'm working on
75:36
something here
75:37
just keep that one swing thought or
75:40
wherever you're working on the range
75:41
whatever it is keep trying to work
75:43
through it because it's eventually going
75:45
to become part of your swing where
75:46
people run into issues is when they try
75:49
and change their swing on the course
75:51
because this is not working now I've got
75:52
to do something else my game is in
75:53
shambles no it's not you just make it a
75:55
change you got to be patient with
75:57
yourself
76:02
Brian says he has a low shot it's a low
76:06
runner in l oréal under time yeah
76:09
I would assume that means that they're
76:11
they're thin shots they're not with a
76:13
divot in front that can we confirm I
76:25
don't know some lows yes yes so there's
76:28
no divot well that would tell me that
76:31
you're probably shifting off the golf
76:32
ball remember our hula hoop if you want
76:35
to have that same point of contact you
76:36
got to keep the weight forward
76:37
throughout the swing so your weights
76:39
probably not staying forward you might
76:41
feel like it is feel like you got more
76:43
weight forward and not not shifting off
76:45
the ball turning the shoulder down will
76:48
help you hit the ball higher because it
76:50
helps you compress it more you have that
76:51
relationship with the ball so weight
76:53
forward shoulder down I know it's the
76:54
same things but really it's that
76:56
important and then should your ball
77:02
position change he said thank you
77:05
should your ball position change since
77:08
your weight is moved forward Scott was
77:10
asking since your weight is more forward
77:12
to the ball photos law positions going
77:14
to remain constant with this with this
77:16
setup with that weight being 55% on your
77:19
front leg or 60% we're setting up to hit
77:22
the ground just forward of Center which
77:25
is
77:26
just a little bit left the shirt buttons
77:28
between your logo and shirt area if you
77:30
were looking down for your stats or if
77:32
you got your stance to club head with
77:35
inside of your left heel assuming your
77:38
feet are outward it's a club head with
77:41
inside your left heel the reason for
77:43
that is when you set the weight forward
77:45
and we're keeping that weight in the
77:46
same spot because we're swinging our in
77:48
a circle we have one point of contact so
77:51
that ball position is going to be right
77:52
there every time I have that one point
77:53
of contact hit the ball the same spot
77:55
every time it's a consistency thing
77:59
terry mentioned tempo he said it looks
78:03
like you're going full speed on your
78:04
downswing yeah I guess it's just in
78:06
general hit anything on the side to do
78:09
it nicely um so yeah tempo is if you're
78:15
a musician you can get onto it pretty
78:17
quickly but I don't like to think of
78:20
tempo as a number I don't I don't I
78:22
never really understood tempo being like
78:24
a seconds thing it's more of an internal
78:26
rhythm for you and just make sure that
78:28
your tempo is not and is constant your
78:32
tempos got to be constant so as I go
78:34
back and through it's the same flow now
78:38
this is where it gets confusing tempo
78:39
versus speed so I can look effortless
78:43
with my tempo and have a heck of a lot
78:44
of speed it's where people think that
78:47
tempo is speed they go robot
78:50
well no take it back and then
78:52
aggressively accelerate on the downswing
78:54
but you're still gonna feel the same
78:55
tempo it might make sense when you're
78:57
making those swings with a weighted Club
78:59
you feel how it naturally accelerates
79:02
while you've got the same tempo that's
79:04
the same idea if that makes sense it's
79:08
kind of like you gotta be careful with
79:10
tempo and swing speed cuz you keep one
79:13
the other don't don't work
79:20
oh it looks like I got lost again hear
79:26
me hello
79:28
check one two check hello check one two
79:41
I'm sorry if I'm freezing here oh it's
79:55
so for some reason the video is Oh
79:59
interesting
80:00
yeah I can't see Sean's face moving hang
80:11
on just a second while we get this
80:12
resolved I wish I could see your
80:20
comments but I because I can't quite see
80:23
them but oh I think he's coming back
80:30
thank you again for being here tonight
80:33
it means a lot like I said I can't see
80:37
the comments but I've been reading a lot
80:40
of the YouTube comments and trying to
80:41
respond as much as I can and really
80:45
loving the improvements I'm hearing the
80:47
stories I'm hearing I couldn't be
80:48
happier for you all it trying to try and
80:53
to play our best off ever well you can
80:57
see and hear me okay oh okay I can see
81:04
you I can I just can't hear you okay I
81:06
hope interesting alright can you hear me
81:12
I can I can only see you moving okay
81:19
what people say they can hear me alright
81:25
hold on one side top Tom's the only one
81:27
who seems canted who can't hear me hold
81:32
on looks like it
81:33
I wonder my heaven Tom can you hear me
81:37
yet or no all right Tom can you hear me
81:50
now I can't hear you yet interesting all
81:55
right I think a lot of people to hear me
81:58
I'm not getting a signal through the
82:00
speakers Tom can you hear me now not yet
82:13
now they can hear hair out like this
82:39
yeah I think Tom can you hear I just
82:48
tested it I can try using my speakers
82:53
but I'm not getting a signal
82:55
yeah go ahead and try all speakers work
82:58
now okay yeah yeah is there an echo
83:01
though okay no I think we're all right
83:04
all right well we'll go we'll go head
83:06
phone list here oh thank you for your
83:09
patience um yep nope that's fine I mean
83:13
we have this there's a lot of people in
83:16
here so it's a lot of bandwidth taken up
83:17
on the account I'm sure all right we'll
83:24
just take a couple more questions I want
83:26
to be Minh on almost an hour and a half
83:29
which has been great and we've gotten so
83:31
many questions and what I will do is I'm
83:36
allowed to download all this stuff so
83:39
maybe Tom and I can take these back and
83:41
it would be probably good things for you
83:43
for some of your videos Tom maybe to
83:45
consider yeah in the future sure I cuz
83:49
there were there were over a hundred
83:50
questions also the driver video on
83:54
yesterday was actually a result of all
83:56
your feedback you know so that's how
83:59
that works yeah so David asked how do
84:03
you hit driver David I don't know if you
84:05
had a chance to see his drive his
84:07
driving video that just came out a
84:09
couple days ago but that was really good
84:11
but Tom maybe share like one tip that
84:14
you would give to someone yeah
84:15
driver is basically the same swing
84:18
almost the same set up see the ball half
84:21
of half way above the clubface make sure
84:23
your weights forward make sure you take
84:25
the club around you it's a longer Club
84:27
so you just need to feel like you're
84:28
doing the same things except exaggerate
84:31
them more that's the biggest thing with
84:33
a driver it's making sure you got the
84:35
hands in if you especially if you're a
84:37
lifter making sure that you push off the
84:40
ground in the downswing to launch it
84:42
higher
84:43
like that and don't think about pushing
84:45
off the ground just add a little bit
84:46
more weight forward your setup well
84:49
watch that episode that episode it's got
84:51
it all all in there late in the
84:53
yesterday's episode Eric said I play
84:56
barehanded would it help to use a glove
84:58
well if you're asking me man who owns a
85:01
glove company Eric I'll tell you one
85:04
hundred percent well I would I will say
85:08
this Eric like a Cabrera glove or a high
85:11
quality glove like what like what we
85:14
sound like if you're gonna get a glove
85:16
you'd probably feel the biggest
85:18
difference with that as far as grip is
85:20
concerned because Cabrera is just
85:22
naturally just more tackier than like a
85:24
synthetic love like if you play
85:26
barehanded for a long time and you think
85:28
like oh my grips okay and then you get a
85:31
synthetic glove you might not see much
85:33
of a difference so if I was going to
85:35
tell you to get a glove definitely don't
85:37
get a synthetic glove if you've been
85:38
able to because that you might not feel
85:40
a great difference and I can attest
85:42
using using Shaun's gloves from about
85:44
three or four weeks now I'm a sweaty guy
85:46
I get balls and I'm in it gets hot in
85:48
South Carolina but that glove is holding
85:51
up and it breathes so well that mesh
85:53
side I mean I never felt anything quite
85:56
like that
85:56
you got these you almost feel like I
85:58
feel like a Titleist you know like that
85:59
same really high quality feel on the on
86:03
the grip side then it's got the
86:04
breathing on the top side yeah so I
86:08
don't know if you guys know how well you
86:09
guys can see this but the back of our
86:11
glove is mesh so it breeze really well
86:14
and then obviously we we use a soft top
86:18
grade Cabrera leather I was a Titleist
86:20
perma soft guy for years I just I hated
86:24
paying 24 dollars at the pro shop for a
86:26
golf glove so then I ended up starting
86:28
my own basket business you can't find a
86:30
fixture problem you solve it by making
86:32
your own solution yeah what just kind of
86:36
like this swing in a leg early now
86:40
people are asking for when's the next
86:41
one when is the sequel super awesome and
86:44
informative but how the same vice did it
86:53
why can't you right you're absolutely
86:54
right Danny is asking
86:57
is a slice with the swing result of not
86:59
enough tilt the inside swing gets me
87:02
slicing more than I want so it all
87:04
depends on what your slice definition is
87:07
we've got the slice that starts left and
87:10
curves right we've got the slice that
87:13
starts right and curves more right so
87:15
you got B pull slice and the push slice
87:18
and two very different fixes so could
87:21
you clarify the ball flight you're
87:23
seeing the slice that starts to rise a
87:31
good one
87:31
all right that's the one that I was
87:33
hoping you'd say so the push slice we've
87:36
got the ball starting right so the face
87:39
is pointed right and then the slice
87:42
tells us there's an out to end swing
87:44
path so you might have the club in
87:48
enough I mean you gotta check and see if
87:50
you are on video but then after that
87:53
point down swing is probably steep
87:56
probably chopping a little bit this way
87:58
or you're you're going down on the ball
88:01
and a chop like fashion that way that's
88:03
two biggest causes of the big slice
88:06
going right it's that path when you chop
88:08
the path goes out to end rather severely
88:13
and so I recommend if you watch the
88:16
driver episode yesterday does that
88:18
thrill what the sticks wing under the
88:19
stick
88:20
you won't you won't come over the top or
88:22
you won't be steep dan I think Dan's
88:26
asked this question I want to make sure
88:27
I think he's asked it a couple times
88:28
about what type of grip do you use I've
88:31
got the Tom's too good opener if it's
88:32
really weird I I've got a grip that's
88:35
really strong here's what it looks like
88:43
you guys can kind of see on my videos
88:47
what it looks like but sometimes it
88:52
looks really strong you see this cupping
88:53
in the wrist here that's that's uh
88:55
that's my weakness I'm actually working
88:57
on waking it weakening it to be more
89:00
neutral because I attend to his too big
89:02
of a draw and I found that that grip
89:05
being too strong has contributed too
89:08
much of a curve so you'll be seeing me
89:11
we
89:11
in that in the coming weeks yeah I I
89:14
actually play with a lot not a super
89:17
weak grip I'm pretty neutral but yeah I
89:19
used to have a little bit stronger of a
89:21
grip too and I I was over hooking it and
89:23
like it would hook it off in play you
89:26
can hit some beautiful hooks I mean he
89:29
he followed up with in Urlacher Vardhan
89:32
depends on the size of your hands and
89:34
what you like to feel as long as the
89:36
grip is secure in your hands and it's
89:38
not wobbling in the swing overlap for
89:41
bigger hands the bigger handed people
89:42
like me I guess like seven and a half
89:46
inches from here to here for me so
89:49
that's a good for overlap interlock
89:51
smaller hands generally a roll Dave said
89:57
he's hitting behind the balls that
89:59
because he's still swaying to the right
90:01
very likely you got to think about what
90:03
influences the hula hoop or the swing to
90:06
move this way to contact point to move
90:08
so a couple things you could be turning
90:11
level and then shopping in a downswing
90:14
that's that or you could be shifting off
90:16
the ball so the best way to know for
90:19
sure is that your shoulders are turning
90:20
in a circle turning down so this and the
90:24
weights gotta be forward if you do those
90:26
two things you'll usually hit ball first
90:28
I'd say like 99% of the time David asked
90:36
and one of your videos that I watched
90:39
you said to have the left shoulder low
90:42
on the backswing and the right shoulder
90:45
low in the follow-through however
90:47
plumber said that the right shoulder
90:49
should be low on the follow-through but
90:53
it should be close to level ah yes so
90:57
when we talk about the start of the
90:59
downswing
91:00
that's probably what I'm referring to in
91:02
that video because to initiate the
91:05
downswing I start changing the direction
91:07
you know like moving that right shoulder
91:09
a little lower and then you get somewhat
91:11
more level of impact it's just a normal
91:14
reaction of getting in between you know
91:16
left shoulder down and right shoulder
91:17
going and also problem yeah then yes the
91:21
extending - but what you find is when
91:24
you exit
91:25
impact that you've got that tilt back
91:28
that you got that same amount of
91:30
shoulder tilt
91:31
I'm trying to do it my chair the same
91:34
amount of tilt back the other way
91:39
chant said he watched a video last night
91:44
I'm also having trouble hooking the ball
91:46
with my drivers well what's the biggest
91:48
cause of that chance I don't know if you
91:50
had an opportunity to watch the whole
91:52
video but he actually gives you an idea
91:56
there to fix that but I don't know if
91:58
you want to comment real quick on yeah I
91:59
think it happens about I think somewhere
92:03
it could be ten minutes into the video
92:05
that we start getting into the fixes
92:07
between 10 or 15 minutes somewhere there
92:09
you're gonna put an alignment stick 45
92:11
degrees in the ground in front of your
92:13
body target side you're gonna swing
92:15
under that stick you'll see it in the
92:17
video though it's a lot easier to
92:19
describe the reason you're hooking is
92:21
you're swinging too much into out and
92:23
that's putting the same amount of draw
92:25
spin on the ball so we need to curb that
92:28
into out by swinging more around our
92:30
body swinging if you're right-handed
92:32
you're swinging left your finishing
92:34
lower and around to get rid of that end
92:37
out path and then Leon asked what the
92:42
chance gave you a thumbs up there he
92:45
said what's what's the initiator of the
92:48
downswing hips are pushing off the feet
92:50
yes but well so you can use either
92:54
there's a 1-1 initiator I got a video of
92:57
where I roll the right foot in that's
93:00
because there was a player a gentleman a
93:03
senior player who I was working on he
93:05
couldn't get his hips left he couldn't
93:07
get he couldn't do that feeling so I
93:09
said Roy your right foot in and then
93:10
everything worked so initiator I like
93:13
pushing off of the left leg that seems
93:15
to get everything if I demonstrate that
93:17
this is what pushing off the left leg
93:19
looks like that's been pushing putting
93:23
pushing off of the weight that's forward
93:25
so it automatically moves you can see
93:28
the hips move left when I push off of
93:30
the leg I like that really because
93:32
everything else reacts from that Lee
93:38
I just saw glee here a second ago okay
93:46
there it is a lot of my shots beer left
93:48
am i over rotating my upper body up
93:51
finish how do I stop this veering left
93:53
as in curbing left they start straight
93:56
curve left yeah well yeah it just says a
94:01
lot of my shots veer left let me see if
94:04
she no they go left like they just start
94:07
left and like okay this whole shots
94:13
biggest cause I see of consistent polls
94:16
is the downswing you're doing a lot of
94:19
up and down in your swing you're not
94:20
doing enough around and around up and
94:23
down being lifting and chopping because
94:25
whenever we go up and down that's when
94:27
the hands get the most active that's
94:29
what I've seen and I've been there and
94:31
it's no fun so if you're pulling a lot
94:33
of shots you you're probably lifting or
94:36
chopping somewhere the swing if you go
94:40
around this way and then you turn your
94:42
body back around the other way the hands
94:43
have no chance to rotate like really
94:45
this golf swing square turn back the
94:49
other way that's how easy it is I'm
94:51
gonna chair but you know right the phone
94:54
face isn't rotating when I do this
94:56
that's really the golf swing and that's
94:57
how consistent it can be alright guys
95:02
I'm gonna stop there because I want to
95:03
be respectful to Tom's time and everyone
95:06
else who who's been hopping on but I'm
95:09
gonna send some of these questions over
95:10
to Tom and I'm gonna have a replay up of
95:13
all of this for everybody I'll probably
95:14
send that out tomorrow tonight I'll
95:17
probably send everyone all the videos
95:19
and I even actually took some time to
95:22
make sure that the videos start at the
95:24
right place and I will tell you where
95:26
the videos end but before we go I'm also
95:28
going to be sending you guys the free
95:30
course that Tom mentioned if you haven't
95:32
snagged that definitely check out
95:35
Segundo golf to learn more tom has his
95:38
own coaching program all set up for you
95:41
guys he has its bite-size digestible
95:44
videos it costs $10 a month literally
95:48
like it's a price of a Starbucks coffee
95:51
someone mentioned my comments it's
95:54
literally 10 bucks a month Rick just
95:57
said his site is highly recommended it's
96:01
it's a great opportunity for you guys to
96:03
to get go a little bit more depth on
96:06
this hap tom who's a great teacher
96:08
fantastic guy to help you out with your
96:10
golf swing so I'm going to encourage all
96:12
of you to definitely go check that out
96:16
which is that's a guru golf and I will
96:18
be sending emails tonight and then I'll
96:21
probably send another email tomorrow
96:23
with the replay of the webinar and yes
96:29
we will have a sequel there's multiple
96:31
people on here like what are you guys
96:32
gonna do this again when you guys go
96:34
ways word party oh yeah Rick is asking
96:38
for a guitar for not always arrange one
96:42
yeah so I appreciate everyone's spending
96:47
I mean we still have a hundred and
96:49
twenty some people out here
96:52
I can't wait to see how many chat things
96:56
are on there but I guarantee you it's
96:58
probably close to like seven eight
97:00
hundred that I've been trying to field
97:01
so I might have to bring someone in here
97:03
to help with navigating all the
97:05
questions and stuff but it was a great
97:07
time I'm glad that all of you enjoyed it
97:09
Tom thank you for taking the time
97:11
tonight to share some of your knowledge
97:13
with everybody and your your love for
97:17
the game and helping people it's
97:18
unparalleled and I'm sure everyone here
97:21
appreciates yes Jon thanks again for
97:24
having me on and thanks again to all of
97:25
the attendees I really appreciate the
97:28
kind words your support and what this is
97:30
all about is getting golf be more fun
97:33
and exciting
97:34
and less difficult less less stressful
97:37
and so if you find anybody on the range
97:40
cuz you're working on these things you
97:41
find anybody on the range who's doing
97:43
the same old stuff that you know like
97:45
the shift in the lift and you saying I
97:47
was that guy how was that person go up
97:50
to them and say hey do you need do you
97:52
need any help I mean there doesn't have
97:54
to be this hard just go to Segundo golf
97:56
on YouTube send them there it's gonna
97:57
help me I want to get the average score
98:00
of any every golfer we're gonna get that
98:02
and to like 259 for everyone
98:05
right David David just asked here real
98:08
quick one last question how can he stay
98:10
on his on his left side because he's
98:12
still heading off his right foot what's
98:14
one drill he had yeah that he can
98:16
utilize yeah one drill you can utilize
98:18
place about 70 to 80 percent of your
98:21
weight on your front leg then you you
98:25
will pre straighten your trail leg kind
98:28
of like your pre setting your hip turn
98:30
and then you swing your arms so you can
98:32
feel like there's weights not going
98:33
anywhere if you just swing the arms
98:36
you can't overuse your body so that's a
98:38
great way to feel the weight being
